Curb Appeal Checklist

Stand at the curb and view your home as a Buyer might. Which features do you like the most? How might these features be accentuated? What items are negatives- how might they be remedied? Work your way through the checklist provided:

Check the home from the roof line down

Is the roof free and clear from obstructions and moss?

Are the gutters clear and properly hung?

Are the windows clean and free from obstructions (such as overgrown bushes or trees)?

Are bushes, trees and shrubs neatly pruned?

Are the garage and other out buildings in good repair?

Could the driveway need powerwashing or resealing?

Inspect the condition of the paint or siding

Is it time to power wash the siding?

Is touch up paint needed?

Is the front door in good shape or could it use a fresh coat of paint. A wreath or new door knocker can give a fresh appearence.

Architectural Features: Many vintage homes have endearing exterior features that can be accented. Does your home have ginger-bread trim? Make sure the wood trim is fresh & clean. Do you have a cozy front porch swing? Accent it with some colorfull pillars. Stained or leaded glass windows? Make your vintage home sparkle by having the windows cleaned and powerwashed.

Do flower beds need an upgrade?

Are plants neatly pruned?

Are the garden beds free and clear of weeds?

Are the beds properly mulched?

Add some seasonal flowers if color is lacking

Keep the lawn neatly groomed.

Is the lawn free from weeds?

Is the lawn free from grass clippings?

Is the lawn neatly edged?
